Why I Started Silver Trail
Â
I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats and dogs, and seeing an animal hurt always stayed with me. For years, I carried around the thought that if I ever had enough money, I would use some of it to help animals.
Â
For a long time, that remained something I imagined doing someday.
Â
I studied biology, continued my education, and built a career in science and research. I followed the professional path I thought I was supposed to follow, but over time I began to feel that something important was missing.
Â
My disability changed parts of my life in ways I had never expected, and difficult experiences in my professional life eventually made me reconsider what I wanted my future to look like.
Â
During that period, I found myself returning to something that had always mattered deeply to me: animals.
Â
Instead of continuing to think about helping them as something I might do later in life, I began asking how I could start building toward that vision now.
Â
That is how Silver Trail began.
Â
I created Silver Trail around wildlife education, advocacy, and long-term conservation and research goals. The work begins with wolves, whose lives, ecological importance, and relationship with humans became something I wanted to understand more deeply and help others understand as well.
Â
Silver Trail began during a difficult turning point in my own life, but it also gave me a direction that felt genuinely mine.
For the first time, helping animals was no longer an idea I was saving for someday.
Â
I had started building it.
